FOR YOU
For You is a dedicated practice of performance making. The work proceeds from these two desires: Make performances based on, and for, specific individuals; bring together diverse groups of strangers for an intimate encounter.
Since 2016, we’ve made bespoke performances for specific audiences of twelve, a roving audio-guided folk dance, an inauguration ceremony for and with the Northwest Arkansas community to celebrate the opening of the Momentary, and am currently developing performances for people with dementia and their care-partners.
As a response to worldwide shelter-in-place ordinances due to COVID-19, and with awareness that many elders are at risk in terms of infection and the compounding hardships of isolation, we launched Artists & Elders, a project that brings artists and elders together for creative exchange. There are currently 50 dyads working together across the globe.
For You projects are supported by Creative Capital, New England Foundation for the Arts National Theatre Project, Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health at The Global Brain Health Institute at UCSF, Center for Cultural Innovation, Gen2Gen Innovation Fellowship, and the Rainin Foundation. For You has been commissioned to create new work by Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, The Momentary (AK) Court Theatre and Experimental Performance Initiative at the University of Chicago.
